Why do they take so long? Granted it has not been that long since I submitted, but geez.....

Anybody familiar with the UCLA Olive View program or Harbor-UCLA program?

USC - already started sending out invites

UCLA - from what their office said, they wouldn't be sending out invites until late oct or starting nov 1, the program coordinator actually told me most likely AOAers get invites first - her words not mine

UCLA-olive view - they just downloaded my app 2 days ago and sent an email saying they received it but probably would take a while before all apps are reviewed, plus i have a friend there that's an intern and he said his CA invites didn't come until late oct last year

UCSF - already started, very selective at this point tho before dean's letters

Kaiser LA - already said they wouldn't invites until November

Cedars, UCSD, Scripps, UCI, harbor - dont know, altho they seemed to have d/l apps already

Does anyone know if santa clara valley and alameda county sent out invites yet?

Does anyone know if Kaiser Santa Clara, Oakland, and SF have any score criteria for AMG's? Thanks.

They don't publish anything. I emailed them, Kaiser SC prefers 1st attempt (I'm sure the others do, too) but that's all I got.

Thank you! I could not find any info either. Just have to wait and see if they send me an invite...

i got an interview from kaiser santa clara on 9/21
i got an interview from kaiser san fran on 9/24

Congrats! Am still waiting to hear from them, starting to get a bit worried now. Applied to 10 programs, all in Cali and just got 1 interview so far. I think I should probably apply to 5 more in other states.

Did anyone get prelim or categorical IM from Santa Clara Valley or Alameda yet?

there are 33 programs in cali why apply to only 10? not to judge but probably a bad idea unless you have astronomical stats

Rcvd invite from kaiser oakland 10/1. I don't think they just look at stats at these places they really look for people that will fit in and are well rounded candidates.

Been away from family for too long so hope to remain in Northern Cali for residency. Applied to prelim, TY & couple of categorical IM, not sure if I want to be an internist at this point.

Got USC and UC Irvine thus far. Still waiting for something from the bay area, disappointed that I haven't gotten any from any of the Kaiser programs!

Has anyone received any invite from Santa Clara valley medical center or Alameda county yet?

i also yet to hear from anything ucla or kaiser sf/kaser la. Is kaiser oak less selective than kaiser la and kaiser sf or did they just start sending invites earlier.

other than location what is the difference between kaiser oak/la/sf. Anybody?

I was thinking of adding some Kaiser programs, is it too late now??

received kaiser sf fairly early, no word from kaiser LA yet (alot of my classmates haven't either). i applied to oak late - 10/21 (didn't see it the 1st time heh), no word yet.

Heard from UCLA mothership today. I would guess most of the invites should be rolling through soon.

Is UCSF still sending out invites or are the bulk of their interview spots already given out?

finally got one from Stanford today...

Which programs are more selective: SCVMC vs Kaiser programs??.....just curious. How strong is the Stanford affiliation to SCVMC?

Not sure if their affiliation is "strong" with Stanford but the residents do rotate at Stanford once as far as I know. Its a community program like Kaiser. I would rank them lower compared to other University programs in NorCal. Kaiser residents seem to be more happier though>>>just my observation.

Is there a link for the PGY1 class at SCVMC? I want to get a sense of what programs their residents typically come from.

No link. Most of their residents are from some of the top tier programs like Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, Yale, UCLA, UMDNJ, etc They are not DO or IMG friendly.

SCVMC interns spend a month on wards either at the Stanford Hospital or Palo Alto VA. Residents can do up to 4 rotations there. Over the past few years, ~40% of the residents who decided to subspecialize ended up doing their fellowships at Stanford. This is because the residents have opportunities to get to know Stanford faculty rather well. Many grads match into Pulm/CC, as SCVMC is known to provide excellent training in this area.

I don't know which interns are prelims, but the categoricals I know from the PGY1 class have come from places like UCLA and UCSD.

Not sure but I got several invites with 230's in S1. Got my S2 now (260's). Got UCSF today!🙂 I think they look at more than just board scores.
