I saw on previous posts and other internet searching that the call and hours in IR are comparable to that of a surgical subspecialty. I dont mind working hard and long hours during the day, but I dont want to be taking night call q3 or q4. Would a person be able to negotiate no call in exchange for a decreased salary, weekend coverage, ect? I just dont want to be working in the middle of the night because I have a sleep disorder so keeping a regular schedule is important to me. I dont mind taking a pay cut or working weekends to compensate.

Im a fellow med student but I rotated at a hospital with a private rads group so I'll take a stab at your question.
One of the problems you'll run into is that a lot of IR groups tend to be fairly small- ie 2-4 people doing IR. So if you don't want to be say Q3 that means that your partners have to be Q2. That being said, what I've always been told is that if you're willing to take enough of a pay cut you can do pretty much anything you want as an attending. Somebody will be happy to have you. You have to decide if you're being taken advantage of or not.
In the private group I rotated through, the practice of diagnostic radiology might fit much better what you're looking for. The group hired a night hawk service not too long ago, so now while they still take call they are off the hook at 11pm. So you could still go home and get a fairly normal nights sleep.

Call at our mod-sized group is 1-2x a week on weeknights, and 1 weekend/month, all home call.

Expect to be in for some period of time both weekend days.

Coming in at night depends on weather, time of year.
