Calling to check status?

I'm not so comfortable calling schools to check my current status. I don't know if it makes me nervous that I might get rejected on the phone, or that I think it's just plain rude to call when their so busy. The thing is, I haven't heard a mouse peep from Colorado. What's the concensus on making status calls? Who calls or has called to check their status since December 1st? Do they really give you a straight answer?

I called all of my schools (except Rdep) and got a straight answer from each one. That was on Dec 1

You probably haven't heard anything because Colorado is ridiculous, in my opinion. Last year they told me I didn't have my biology prerequisites done, even though I majored in Biology... from the University of Colorado. But I've called them and they don't seem to mind, considering they're half ******ed.
