Hi all,

I am planning to take the DAT this spring and wanted to seek advice on how to study BIO.
I have DAT Destroyer, Cliffnotes 3rd and Barrons ap biology books but from looking thru the forum, it seems like campbells bio textbook is also recommended.
For Campbell bio, which edition would be acceptable?
9th editions are around $35 but I can get the 8th edition around $10.
Not to be cheap but would rather use $25 less if it doesnt matter even though im already spending $$$$ on prep materials and the test itself.

Lots of people have said that Campbell's is overkill. It seems that most recommend Ferali's notes and Cliff's AP Bio 3rd edition these days. With those two resources it seems most people get 20+ on bio.

The reason people suggest not spending too much time on Campbell's is because the DAT is weighted more heavily for GC and OC. Your TS and AA will depend more on how well you do with GC and OC, so it's better to put more time and mental resources into those subjects.

That said, the DAT writers use Campbell's to write the BIO portion of the exam. It is 1,100 pages though, and you don't want to download the Essential Biology text. Get the full text by Campbell, Reece, etc. Any edition should do really.
