Hello all,
I need some honesty I am in the middle of my finals right now and I am worried that this semester might hurt my chance of getting into MD. I did good my previous semester in my Junior year getting a 3.97 but, this semester is a bit different i might get below a 3.5 for the first time in my entire career as an undergrad. I was wondering how much will this affect my chances for MD. I have a cGPA of 3.75 and sGPA3.73. I am a URM (Mexican). Raised by a single mother. I still have not taken my MCAT yet. My EC is a bit weak with only having a few officer positions in my social fraternity which have been a member of since freshman year. I will start doing research starting this fall. I am part of a greek honor society which represents the top 3% of student greeks. I'm from California I attend one of the UC's. Any more information let me know. Please be honest.

Besides the leadership you have, the research you plan, and the clinical experience that is essential, also get in some physician shadowing and nonmedical community service as well, to make your application stronger. Don't rush to apply. Make your application the best it can be first.

Also stop looking at SDN in the middle of your finals, and concentrate instead on doing as well as you can in them!
