I'm aware that physicians can "fax" C2 prescriptions for patients in long-term care or hospice settings. However, can they "call" in a C2 prescription?

You can take a C2 over the phone in an emergency if you receive the hard copy within..what, 7 days? I don't ever do it, so I'm not sure. It's either 3 or 7 days.
If it's just a general thing for prescriber convenience, I'd make em fax it. Less chance for error that way anyways.
The federal law is 7 days that you can receive the hardcopy for a emergency script, 3 days comes into play when you are talking about giving partials, that is the time you have to dispense the full amount.
Yes, an emergency CII can be called in for hospice. They have seven days to get to you the original hard copy. The quantity for the prescription is limited to the duration of the emergency.
