Can a state school affect me from getting into top medical school

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm a Biomedical Science major -Freshman Year second semseter-.
I go to a state school which is not neccesrily consided a top tired school but my grades are decent and i think i have a good shot at doing well with my mcats when time comes for me to take them but something that has got me worried is that because i go to a state school i might not have a chance in getting into top med schools like ivys because of my undergrad school. is this something i should be worried about.

Pro tip: use appropriate capital letters and a spell-checker when you write your personal statement. Ideally, "MCAT" is singular. Also:

If this is an example of your formal writing skills, you have more to worry about than not getting into a "top school."

Why are you worried about getting into “top med schools like ivys”? Your concern should be with getting into any US med school.

My 2018 graduating college class is <100. Our only basic science degree is biology, with which <10 will be graduating. It's on you dude.

Well at this rate it isn't your academic pedigree but your attitude.

Thank you for your opinion which I did not ask for. If you have no advise for me simply move on and keep your comments to yourself.

You need to be schooled. With an attitude like that, you likely will not make it into med school. You should be welcoming any useful information about the premed-to-med-school-process.

Whoa you can delete posts? This will really change the SDN game. But no, state school doesn't matter... Though it did make me feel a bit out of place at interviews at high ranked schools.

Chances are your MCAT will impact your chances at top schools far more than going to a state school for UG... oh and you’re attitude.
