Can American doctors practice in France?

Sorry for double posting, as I also posted this in the pre-med forums.

Just out of curiousity, can American trained physicians practice in France? I've tried to google it for a while, and I haven't found the aswer to it. I know of several countries that are fairly open to it, such as Australia, but I can't find any relevant information on France.
 
Many countries will accept MDs if they meet the requirements for licensing in that country. From what I understand though, DOs have a more uphill battle overseas.

Did you try contacting the French Medical Association?

I'd ask this in international. It is actually pretty difficult, atleast according to my understanding, for an American doctor to practice anywhere in the EU without doing residency there. However, most countries will have exceptions for people in a shortage area.
 
I heard at an international health conference that Europe does not accept American doctors (unless you redo your residency there).
