Anyways I really want to take this class and it is listed under teh physics department in many schools. Am I allowed to take it and say physics 1 to complete the 1 year of physics needed?

if it's listed under the physics department, i don't really see why it wouldn't work though?? do the admissions really check carefully on every course?
astronomy in place of the required pre-requisite of physics?
good luck pulling that fast one on dental school admissions. maybe you think they're not so bright? Like I said, good luck.

no, by "checking" every course, i meant i don't think they'd check what "topics" are covered in each of ur courses.
Physics is a broad field, energy, waves, electricity, light and radiation, mechanics, biophysics, thermal physics etc etc.
A course may give u an intro on every topic without going into detail, or the course can focus on just one of the subjects and it is taught in greater depth.
i've never seen any dental school's website says ur physics need to cover which topics. The only requirement is the course need to be accompanied by labs.
Since every school categorizes courses in different ways. If your school thinks astronomy falls under physics. Then physics it is. I don't think admissions have a list of "type of physics" that they would check for.
just to point out, I myself do have credits in general physics (not astronomy)
