Hi everyone!
I'm a neuroscience major applying to medical school this summer but I'm in a bit of trouble- I did badly on Orgo II...twice! The first time I got a D and the second time I got a C 🙁 These brought down my GPA and BCPM, but I know there's not much I can do about that now.
I don't know what it is about Orgo- I think that the first time I didn't put enough effort into it, and the second time around, I just viewed it with such dread and helplessness that I just gave up. I know that med schools take Orgo grades seriously, though, so I'm thinking about registering for Biochemistry next semester and noting this on my AMCAS- to show that I can handle higher level chemistry courses. I looked at a syllabus for Biochem and I'm pretty sure I can do well in it- it looks similar to Molecular and Cell Biology, which I did well in- and then I can mention it in my interviews.
I'm going to have to convince some people to let me take the course because of scheduling conflicts, though, and also I already have a lot of commitments for next semester, so I don't want to go through this if it's not worth it. What do you guys think? Any advice would be appreciated!
