Can I ask one of my letter writies to write an additional letter of support after I interview

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why? Didn’t the writer include everything in his original letter? Does the person have deep ties to the school?
I mean they can just push for your acceptance. Is this unheard of?

If they wrote you a letter already, there’s no point in another. Even if not, I’d still be surprised if a new letter would be taken into consideration that late.

Unfortunately bullying behavior is extremely common in medicine. Extremely.

I think its lack of confidence, lack of competence and paranoia that leads to bullying and all the other negative behaviors associated with it.
IN my humble opinion, we are emphasizing the wrong things int he admissions process.

I've interviewed at one school that explicitly welcomed new LORs from supervisors in new positions. Others have said they are a good update as well

Perhaps it varies by school, then; none of the schools I interviewed at said anything about welcoming new LORs, though they welcomed updates. A repeat LOR would still be redundant in any case.

If there is anything I have learned in my career, it's that admissions people just love getting pushed.
Is it worth updating with a new letter from a job i now have significant hours at? It would be one of my stronger/est letters in a clinical setting.

I don't think so. To send a new LOR you would have to put it through AMCAS and hope that schools both look at your file again and recognize a new letter has been added. Unless you update the school saying "Hey, look at my new LOR!"

While potentially painful to come to terms with, your application for the 2018-2019 cycle has been submitted, and it is now very, very, very hard to move the needle on it.
