The new cycle in 2010 opens in June 3rd.
I am probably going to apply around June 5-6th.
But going to take DATs either end of June for Early July. (probably june 30th or july 5th)

Do you think I'll be able to be considered in the first round interview??
is it taking DAT too late?

Absolutely, i applied end of june, DAT was July 15th and i had many pre december interviews. I got interviews just as early as those who submitted in the first week and had all there stuff in at that time. Schools don't usually begin processing the apps immediately.

The AADSAS application has nothing to do with your DAT scores. The DAT scores are sent to the schools you choose when you register to take the DAT (remember to pick your 5 for free when you do register!). After you take the DAT, you can also request that additional schools be sent your scores. For example, if you're not sure how well you're going to do, select the 5 free schools, and then after you take the test, (and do well), request that it be sent to additional schools. This can take a few days longer, but it can save a load of cash.

Like Vic said the DAT scores will be sent through ADA (Who runs DAT) and not AADSAS. After i took the DAT i faxed all my scores out to the schools that wanted me to (a couple would only accept official copies from ADA). It really isn't necessary to fax them this early but it can not hurt.

Yeah you're fine. I took the DAT the first week in July. My stuff wasn't all done until August because of some stupid mishaps, and I got interviews 2 out of the 3 schools I applied to pre Dec, the 3rd in Jan.

Wouldn't it depend on what you bring to the table rather than when you sent in you application?

I also plan on applying around June 3rd. However,I plan on taking the DAT in early August. Is that too late?

You know very well that obviously what is on your application matters most, but the timing plays a significant role.

Can I just select all schools that I want my DAT scores to be sent when I register for DAT? I am probably going to apply to 15 schools.
Or, do I have to select 5 (free) when I register.. then select additional after I take it?
Also, If option #2 is the correct way.. then how do I additionally send scores after I take the exam? (through fax.....?)

You can do all designations prior to the exam. To order additional designations (before or after the exam) you have to go through the ADAs website.

August is not too late to take the DAT. I took it in August also. You can submit your AADSAS before taking the DAT. I recommend doing that, I did not do that. I submitted everything around October 15th, interviewed Nov. 24th and was accepted Dec. 1. It's always possible.

Yeah it's definitely possible. Unfortunately, you just don't have as good a chance as the people who are applying earlier. Of course, if your stats are that good, I'm sure you'll get in somewhere, just might be later and might not be everywhere you planned. The first round of acceptances get sent out Dec 1st, so anyone that interviews before some day near the very end of November (might be the last day, not sure) will get notified Dec 1st. I had an interview on Nov 19th and I got in there in the first wave.
