Would I be eligible in all states to practice in a state prison if I received a PhD in social work? How about a federal prison? Can PhDs in social work actually get licensed in all states/some???

The federal prison system does not hire social workers to conduct psychological services.

But doctoral level counseling psychologist yes, right? I now remember reading that in the info you PMed

How did your interview and stuff go? If you landed that internship, how is it going??

A PhD is SW won't get you anything more than an MSW would except maybe money.

The BOP hires only clinical or counseling PhDs to work as psychologists and only from APA accredited programs.

Does anyone know if I could work there a PsyD and get licensing hours and get supervision?

Yes you can. Sorry if I made it sound like they only hire PhDs in my previous post, they hire PsyDs also. The "only" was meant to emphasize the clinical or counseling part, not the PhD part.

No worries, PsyD often gets forgotten about or just replaced by PhD. Also, would I have to apply as a "clinical psychologist" on the state govt site I noticed.
