Have you shadowed podiatrists? This isn't something you want to jump into unless you know for sure you are meant to be a podiatrist.

You really need to contact the respective programs you intend to apply to in order to know for sure. They may already be full with full wait lists but you ought to speak to them directly instead of deciding based on the comments of a bunch of random students online.

Good Luck,

Sorry to say but you're really late in the game. You'll need a letter of rec from a Podiatrist to apply. There may be a few spots open at the lower tier schools. I wouldn't really count on it tho. On top of that, if you do submit your app, it'll take AACPM time to process your app and have it sent to the Pod schools. Pretty much by then, everything will be gone. If you're really serious about becoming a Podiatrist, I'd suggest waitiing till the next cycle. Your scores are good and you'll have a better chance of getting into the better programs.

Your grades are pretty consistent with the avg., and your MCAT is very good. However, I am attending Scholl and I had been told that all of the seats there are already filled for 2006. I would still contact the school, however, and talk to them just to confirm this information. As mentioned previously, you could attend one of the lower tier schools, but do you really want to do that? With grades and scores such as yours, you can get into one of the top schools. If I were you, I would wait and apply in the fall for 2007. I think that in the end you will be happier if you wait.

Apply anyways, you never know what can happen. One of my friends was considering applying a couple of weeks ago and Scholl was really nice about it. There's really nothing you can lose, if it doesn't work out there is always next year.

But on that note do you spend the money if you end up reapplying next year?

I say wait until next year and choose your school; don't go the route of which schools are left.

I agree with cowbell's assertion. Maybe its just the toxic affect it has on me but I think you would be happier with the school of your choice, rather than settling. Your MCAT score will get you what you want. Wait till next year and do good research on each of the schools. Good luck.
