Can I take a summer premed at a local state school that is cheaper than my private school?

I was thinking of taking either genetics or microbiology this summer since I wouldn't be able to do anything else, and it will make my sophomore year easier with one less science class. If I take it at my current private school it cost $6000. if I take it a my local state school it will be $1200. Either way the class will be online. My goal is not to make it easier but to make it cheaper - but will it look like I am trying to take an easier class? I just can't see spending $6000 for the same class that would be included in my fall tuition. Thank you.

That's fine. It's a pre-med delusion that med schools want you to take every course at your four year school, in four straight years.
