    Would someone please explain the differences in being placed on hold, waitlisted, or placed on an alternate list? Are they basically the same or not? Also if you are in one of these situations how slim are your chances of getting in at this point? Thanks for any input. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    i'm sure that each individual school is different, however, my experience has been that the hold catagorie&lt;waitlist&lt;acceptance. I believe that each school has it's own credentials for how many are placed where, and who is chosen. Obviously, the other dependent factor is whether or not the individuals that are offered admission actually accept the offer.
