Medical Can someone ruin chance if they want to, even if they don’t write letter for you?

My friend just had situation at medical related job where the doc in charge had huge beef and he got fired and her boss wants to send letters to schools to ruin their chances. My question is, if someone doesn’t like you enough, and you don’t ask for letter, can someone still ruin your chances?

Yes, someone could do that if they were really motivated. Nobody can prevent someone from sending an email.

How spiteful and a complete waste of time. Admissions Committees won't touch those letters.

Admissions Dean are used to disgruntled exGFs/BFs and bosses trying to poison the water for candidates. They get appropriately ignored.
