went to US undergrad
non-URM

3.6 cGPA/sGPA with HUGE upward trend:

2.6 ish freshmen year
2.8 ish sophomore
4.0 for junior
4.0 for senior

2 years of research
1 year of hospital volunteering
3 years of diff community services (non medical related)
100 hours of shadowing

I have very recently decided to switch to pre-med so I haven't taken my MCAT yet, but I am willing to put good 6 months to study.

so considering i get decent MCAT, how are my chances looking??
my mind is in a chaos right now cuz of my recent change of career path
any honest opinions would greatly help this lost soul
Do you have a greencard? If yes...30 mcat will make competitive. If you dont have a greencard...You might need a 33+ mcat. I am assuming that you will are applying to MD programs

no i do not have a greencard
and yes I am applying for MD

how does my GPA look tho?? isn't it pretty low??
im worried cuz some stats said avg gpa of matriculants was higher than 3.7

Your GPAs are fine albeit not excellent...The MCAT will be the deal breaker for you now...33+ will give you a decent chance at mid-to-low tiers MD.

That upward trend is sexy brah. Now you have to take the mcat game and apply broadly. A lot of school fall into the 50th percentile of 3.7 c/sGPA, but you will be fine.

wonderful. thanks for your input !!

It all depends on the MCAT right now.

Canadian with 3.6/28? No chance (basically)

Canadian with 3.6/32+? Make sure you apply early and to a bunch of schools, then nail the interviews!
