I am a Canadian Applicant. I just finished my 3rd year and plan to graduate by April 2013. I have a science GPA of 3.47 and overall GPA of 3.62 (I am currently taking one Science and one-non science course. During the academic update, this will push my science GPA to about 3.49 and overall GPA to about 3.67...do they consider this higher average later on?)

My Canadian DAT scores are TS21, AA21, PAT21, RC20, CHEM24, BIO19, CARVING22

I have 1400+ hours of EC/volunteer/community service, 100 hours shadowing a dentist, 120 hours research at an oral cancer lab, and 2000 hours of work experience.

This is my first time applying.

I am applying to the following schools

Loma Linda University
University of the Pacific
Nova Southeastern
University of Kentucky
Tufts
Boston University
University of Michigan
University of North Carolina
NYU
Columbia
Ohio State University
Case
University of Pennsylvania
Temple
Marquette

What are my chances at these schools? Thanks!

Stats look decent, extracurriculars are great, and DAT scores look okay too. However, your choice of schools isn't necessarily wise. I'd get rid of international-unfriendly state schools, like:

UMich
UKentucky
UNC
maybe OSU

Also, are you sure you want to apply to Loma Linda? It's a Seventh-day Adventist school, and although I don't believe they hold you to hard-and-fast rules about your conduct or how you live, it might be a bit of a drain if you're not of the same belief system as pretty much all of your classmates.

Hi cleanup,

I am a Christian myself so I wouldn't necessarily mind the Christian aspect of LLU, but you're right...it might be too extreme for me. I'll reconsider that.

Are my other choices of schools ok? I already paid and had my application sent to the 4 schools you listed (UMich, UKentucky, UNC, OSU) so should I even bother paying supplementals and trying? Any other schools you think are good choices, and do I stand a good chance at the other 10 schools?

Thanks in advance.
Sean
