Canadian Students: Need Help with Visa Questions??

I am just wondering if some Canadian students who are currently studying in dental schools in US can help me out here.

1) What kind of student Visa do we need?
2) When should I apply for it and how long does it take to obtain it?

First, you gotta show the school that you have enough money to cover your first year tuition (at least for Upenn). Then they will send you the I-20 form. Then you pay 200 dollars through online. They will exchange ur I-20 form to F-1 Visa when you cross the border. Pretty straight forward 🙂

the 200$ refers to the SEVIS fee that you have to pay online. then bring the proof of payment when you cross customs. the customs officer will take it from there

How long does it take fo schools to give me the I-20 ??!! I am in the processes of securing my line of Credit from TD-Bank by end of the month and after that I guess I can show my school that I can pay for it and ...

Is there enough time if I send my information to them by April ?

Call the schools directly and find out exactly what they would require to process your case. That will be your best bet.
