Hi guys,

I know it's pretty late to cancel my registration for the Jan PCAT, but due to family emergencies/issues 🙁, school and work.....I don't think I am prepared to take the PCAT this weekend. I read the site and I just couldn't find the link to cancel. What would happen if I don't show up for the exam? Will PharmCAS and any of my other designated schools know that I didn't show up?

I am torn with taking it and not taking it, but I don't want to risk getting a lower score. I know I can just put down "no score" but what if I do score higher.....I don't want to feel any regret. :scared: I do however, have a lot of catching up in my classes and can use that time to do that.....advice please? 🙁

Well you'll never know that you scored higher if you choose "no score" because they won't grade it. There were plenty of people who didn't show up when I took the PCAT but anyway, I doubt they'll care if you show up or not since they're still getting your money.

Just take it and don't send it out. You don't have to send the score to anyone. Leave that spot blank. The only thing about that is...if you do good and want to send it out it will cost you 20 dollars per school...🙄

I agree, just go ahead and take the test but choose to not have the scores sent out. If anything, it'll act as a great pretest to prepare you for when you are ready.

I thought if you do "no score". they won't send scores to you and the selected schools.....how will we know if we did good or not if it wasn't scored? Sorry.....I'm kinda confused....

So it wouldn't hurt me if I couldn't make it to exam at all? (Family emergencies might come up. 🙁 )

Are you sure you can do that? That defeats the purpose of the "no score" option if the students can find out their score before sending them out to schools because then, they can hide the bad scores and only reveal the good scores.

OKay, I forgot to add the fact that if you bomb your first PCAT exam and not send it out thats fine...but if you take the PCAT again and did very well on it and send it out...Pearson will send BOTH OF YOUR SCORES to the schools...Unless you took your 1st PCAT 3 years ago then they will not send it out anymore. So if you take your first PCAT 2006 and made a 65...then take it again Jan 2009 and made a 95 then they will not send out your 65.

Oh, so if you choose to not have the results sent out, then they wont send the results to you either?

You will always get your results back unless you choose the no score option.

I mean you can choose to not send it out to your pharmacy schools and pharmcas. 😉
