I have a dilemma - I cannot remember the exact end month of one of my activities that happened 2 years ago. I know I started in October of 2007 and ended the volunteering activity after about half a year. I can't remember if it's March or April. I've gone back through my emails, chat logs to try to figure out if I mentioned it to my friends but can't find any indication. I know the total number of hours I have and it would seem like I ended in early April and not late March but I'm not 100% sure. I've contacted the volunteer's office, but they haven't gotten back to me in 3 weeks, and I've called back again and she told me because my file is in archive and they are overloaded, they don't have the time to look into it for me (she said so quite impatiently).
My question is I don't have the intention of lying about my end date but if I do put April 08 and the schools I apply to happen to check and it's actually March 08, am I screwed? This is probably the paranoid premed in me talking, but is this considered lying if it was actually March 08 and not April 08 as I'm probably going to put down?
