Have you guys ever come across the thought or desire to write something or blog something, say as a joke, but you don't because of the fear that some future patient or admissions committee might dig it up? .. I know this was mentioned sometime ago on the topic of facebook and it's impact on an acceptance if the admissions committee finds it.

And I'm not talking about posing nude or taking part in pornography. Just I have a pretty dark sense of humor and I'll think of a really funny joke but worry it's not PC or will be taken out of context. I'd like to think I could just do it on my own blog but companies have fired people over grumbling about work.

Just like to hear some thoughts about this... 🙂

well, if you think something could potentially get you in trouble or whatever, i just wouldn't do it.... plain and simple
however, things like facebook can be private to where virtually no one but your friends or ppl you designate can read what you write so that's also an option....
just exercise good judgement...if anything goes wrong, you only have yourself to blame

if its something that you dont want other people to find out... dont post it on the internet.

I don't worry about Facebook since only my friends and people in my network can see my profile. Blogs or Myspace, OTOH, are risky.

Besides, Myspace sucks anyway.

I don't post anything offensive bc it has been my life long dream to one day be a distinguished moderator here on SDN. 🙄 I can see myself one day with nothing better to do than to moderate all the posts.

I definitely wouldn't try any jokes that could be taken offensively. Even though you are joking, it's just not worth it.

The thing is the Internet can't give you a sense of sarcasim... HUGE PROBLEM because then things can be taken out of context and you can be in some deep poo...

Honestly I dont think that your patients will know your name, but there are horror stories out there... kinda scary

hello?!? this is why you have an alias on-line!
