Let me start this one for people applying this year. Plz post your credentials and the number of programs you will be applying to.

Myself R2 at a Univ Program, a FMG, good scores, 7 pubs (unrelated to cards), plan to apply to 70-80 programs

Osteopathic R2 at allopathic community hospital, 5 pubs - half are cardio abstracts.
applying 40-50 programs.

anyone have advice for personal statements?

Hello,
1. I was wondering when is the last date to apply for 2009 cardiology?
2. How is the application process, vis ERAS?
I am so busy with my current residency program barely have time to start preparing for the fellowship application.

Creds: PhD, 3/4 publications, abstract, conference presentation.
I am a FMG, Green card, current R-2 at community based program.

Any information will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

November 15 is the opening date for ERAS, but most programs have mid-Jan as deadline for applications. but I feel that to have everything in by December will be good idea.

Same here, very busy to even prepare it properly.

Thanks. Good to know that there is some time left. What else does one need to apply other than:
1. 3 letters of recommendation
2. Personal statements.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Went through this process last year, allopathic US grad, academic univ program, applied to 20 programs.

1. 3 Letter of recs (some will take 4)
2. Personal statement
3. Request for USMLE to release your scores to ERAS
4. Picture of yourself
5. Medical school transcript and dean's letter for some programs
6. Money for apps / flights / hotels
7. Coverage for interview dates

I wonder, if anybody knows how can I get a list of cardiology research
fellowship?

i dont think there is a specific website. ppl normally find a lab to work in either by referral or by emailing preceptors of labs directly. You can normally get their email addresses by going to their websites. hope this helped.

R-3; D.O. at University allopathic program; Doing a chief year
one publication/abstract; one meeting presentation; currently working on a project; High USMLE's/class rank
Will probably apply to 40 programs b/c I am OCD
My app is done except awaiting one more letter to arrive
Programs start downloading Dec 1st, let's all cross our fingers

I heard that some invites go in December, is that true? which programs send early invites

I have graduated from univ. program

has GC

No interviews yet. Only got a couple emails saying they would be reviewing.

haven't heard anything yet, nor has anyone I know heard anything...

Just a giant sea of nothingness ...

NO rejections, No interviews so far.

Any programs that send interview invitations by snail mail? I will be out of town for the next couple weeks and wouldn't want to miss anything that is time sensitive.

Wait, the floodgates are about to open👍

UF Jacksonville interview today . . . good luck to everyone.

.... no int... no feed back frm programs....kind of losing patience. did anybody hear anything?

the vast majority, maybe 80%, of interviews are sent out between middle of January and middle of March with the largest portion of these interviews occuring in the month of February. It is still way too early for those of you who have not heard anything.

I know people who have got invitations from their own home programs at least

hello Guys

I have received CD from Aurora Health Care /WI about their cardiology fellowship...was it sent to every applicant ? did anyone receive it ?

any IV so far ?

Please share

No int so far....kind of depressing. didn't apply tp auro/wi.

Yeah, I got the CD from Aurora too. No calls so far

still nothing..... gotta stop neurotically checking my email 🙁

I am a Med/Ped graduate and applying to both adult and peds cardiology but i am having trouble with NRMP. They wont let you register for two different matchs. Any Suggestions.

No interviews so for.

I have applied to 170 programs in adult cardiology and 30 programs in peds cardiology.

good luck

U of Arizona

Texas A&M

no IV

It's almost mid Jan, no interviews or rejections yet........... waiting.............

guys ! what is the deal ..all thesse programs asking for money ( 30-50$$) and no IV so far !!

Ran into our cardiology PD, who assures me that it is still very early.... Here we accept apps until 2/1, and I was told that no interviews will be sent out till after 2/1. Also... he had not yet finished his first readthrough of all the apps.... the whole thing is frustrating nonetheless.

UNC sent out invites today . . . anyone hear about other places?

UVA sent out invites today also.

Interview from Texas A&M. Most programs said they are reviewing and would be till end of january before sending interviews. Good Luck everyone.

Based upon my contacts and friends and based upon other people's posts the following programs have sent invites

1. U Florida (Jacksonville)
2. Baylor College of Medicine
3. Texas Heart Institute
4. Texas A & M
5. UVA: has anybody heard from them?????
6. UNC: has anybody heard from them ????

Some have offered interviews to their internal candidates only

Had my first rejection from Northwestern.

Interviews at UNC and UVA so far...also got first rejection from Northwestern today.

Keiser Permanante and Emory (research track) also sent away invitations.

No rejections YET

So I haven't received any rejections, but I also have not heard back from a couple programs that seem to have already sent some invites. Will they definately send me some notice or does not receiving anything mean that I'm out?

For those of you that have received interviews at Baylor (Houston), are you IM residents there?

Rejection from Mayo Clinic Arizona.
