FMG, CR now, University affliated program, low USMLE scores (90,84,88), Excellent letters from PD and known faculty. I think research is my strength. second authored research paper accepted for pub in Circulation. Abstracts 14(5 in ACC, 2 AHA, 2 ESC, 2 TCT and 3 in SCAI) and total 4 pubs. All during residency.

Do USMLE scores make a big difference??
Also, which Mount Sinai is this program?
Going to be a long tough season

I think maybe USMLE scores matter for the bigger programs which get interviews from everybody and so need a quick way to weed out 50 from >500. However, I think if 1) they already know who you are, 2) you're just that well known, or 3) you previously went to school there or are in residency there then USMLE/med school/AOA, etc. just don't matter. In other words, I would hope they don't carry the same weight as for residency selection but think it is one way of quickly paring down the applicant pool.

Credentials are AMG, PGY-2 at large academic center, mid-top tier. Above avg USMLE scores, 3 pubs, no conferences, large primary research project nearly complete, great LOCs. Applied to about 25 programs.

Someone should compile a running list if they have time.

Thanks for the interview compilation...
Two questions:
(1) Mt Sinai: did we clarify that it is the New York program that sent out interview invites?
(2) Saw Yale on the interview list too, although I didn't see anyone post an interview invite from Yale. Have they sent invites as well?
Thanks!

(1) No, not clarified as far as I can tell.
(2) Yale has sent invites, got one last week

Congrats!

Thanks for the info.

Has UCLA sent out invitations? to outside applicants?

Hello Guys

has any one received rejection from Vermont, ECU or Jacksonville....I know they have sent invitation but have they sent rejections ?

Any ideas on how the IV season works? Do programs work on batches and then send IV's/rejections or do they wait till they get all the applications, review and send interview calls? Not sure how some hear from programs and others don't

Today: University of Colorado

Interviews: Baylor, Duke, Emory, UPenn, UCSF, Colorado

Rejections: MGH

Places that I applied to and that have sent out interviews but that I have not heard from: Texas Heart, Cleveland Clinic

I think some programs (like duke, northwestern, baylor) look over all their applications and send out a mass invite/rejection. Other programs (like brigham i think) send out very very few initial invitations and then a few rejections to those they are sure they aren't going to interview. Then they wait to see how many of their initial invitations get back to them and then decide on how many more people to interview... who knows what they do. The other possibility is that programs offer interviews/rejections on a rolling basis depending on when they review your application.. such that if you submitted early, you will hear early.

It seems like there is no set rule . . . every program is different. Some programs will send invitations out on different dates whereas others will send them out all at once. If you have not heard, there may be several possibilities. They may be reviewing other batches of applications, they may be waiting to send out more invites pending the responses of their top tier choices, or they may have already rejected you (just not notified you).

BTW, reject from Yale today (I personally emailed them).

But also invite from U. Colorado.

Another scenario to considter is that it may take multiple meetings before deciding on a full slate of candidates to invite to interview. Some applications are immediately given a 'yes' and some will get re-reviewed and discussed during subsequent meetings so their status can be delayed.

Kaiser sent out invites too

Colorado (already mentioned) and Wake Forest today.

R2 in large university program, few publications, good board scores

Your list curation is much appreciated, cardsboy08. Would be great to also have a list of programs which have sent out rejections but no known interviews yet. Brigham may be the only program in this thread thus far that fits this description.

Rejection from UCSF

Hey Austinflint. did you get the Uconn rejection through email or regular mail? And was it Uconn or Hartford hospital? Thanks and congrats on Wakeforest! 👍

For those of you that have gotten rejections from "Baylor" . . . is that Baylor COM or Texas Heart?

Add GW in DC. I'm not from there.

They're interviewing 24 people this year (three 8-interviewee days in March).

For those of you that have gotten rejections from "Baylor" . . . is that Baylor COM or Texas Heart?

reject was from baylor COM, houston but yet to her from baylor univ, dallas. has anybody hear from them...

Anyone heard from:

U of Florida-Gainesville
U of Washington
Maine Medical Center

or any of the Chicago programs other than Northwestern?

Anybody know if/when the Brigham sends out invites/rejections? And BI? And most of the rest of the Northeast?

Do any of you know how many people most big academic programs interview?

New: UAB, University of Pittsburgh

Interviews: Baylor, Duke, Emory, UPenn, UCSF, Colorado, University of Michigan, University of Pittsburgh, UAB

Rejections: MGH

Places that I applied to and that have sent out interviews but that I have not heard from: Texas Heart, Cleveland Clinic, UCLA

BigDawg: I think they usually do 10 interviews for each slot, so with most programs having 6-8 spots they do 60-80 interviews I think. Invites and rejections that I've received say 600 apps, so 60interviews/6-8spots.
Although Cleveland clinic has 13 spots so maybe they do more, most of the traditionally big places have 8 (JHU, Duke, BIDMC, Emory, UTSW, UPenn, etc), I think BWH and MGH each have 6 as well as Cornell and Columbia...

Recent Rejections: Uni of Wisconsin, Emory, UCSF

IVs: texas A&M, Kaiser, OHSU, UTSW

Rejections: MGH, Northwestern, Brigham, Mayo (AZ),Duke, Michigan

Here's my running list,

IV's: East Carolina Univeristy, Mt. Sinai NY, NYMC - St Vincent's 👍

Rejections: Mayo AZ, Northwestern, U MD, UTSW, Texas Heart, U Michigan, Loma Linda, Dartmouth 👎

Still waiting on a ton....😕
