Does anyone know how the increasing use of cRNA's will effect the outlook/demand/salary of anesthesiologists in the future? It seems that many hospitals would use a cRNA in favor of an anesthesiologist in certain situations (i.e. more simple procedures) in order to cut costs. Can anyone speak intelligently from an informed perspective on the matter? Also, does anyone know how important research experience is to obtain a good anesthesiology residency? I (like everyone else here) knows that research is a must for the ultra-competitive fields, but what about for anesthesia? Thanks for your time and advice.
