  1. Pre-Medical
Hey everyone, for those that are currently enrolled in the caribbean:

Heres my situation , I came to med school in Aus (UNSW) on the basis that I would get a 2 yr credit for the pre-med courses in the 6 yr program, but that changed after I got here, the Uni is making me do 5.5 yr , therefore graduating in 6 yr (Dec 2012)

I had already deferred my acceptance at SMU for this Sept 07 semster, I am considering on going there instead and get it done in 3.5-4 yrs, considering that its USMLE based and so forth......tuition here is about 15K US/term vs. 9K at SMU

Being in my position, why would you do instead, iam really confused

Thanks

Well if SMU is admitting you to Med program then fine but the ECMFG just realsed new guidlines and the school you did the first 2 years of premed must report to the ECMFG not the school you graduate from, so if you left a shaky school to go to a better one you may be better off repeating and having the courses at the one you are at now, I do not want to transfer due to this mess.

Please investigate the problems you will have from transferring the ECMFG in the US seems to saying they do not want to see FMG's "hopping from school to school. I happen to agree with this personally.

I'd stay in Oz.

I'll go to the Caribbean med school. If you want to practice in US, since
they don't they last two years in States.
Thanks.

And Caribbean school do their clinicals in States.
