Case Western vs Temple vs Pitt vs NOVA?

Hi Everybody,
i need some advice regarding choosing a school.

I feel quite fortune, I got into 4 schools (Case Western, Pitt, Temple, Nova) and I see positive aspects in all them. I have very limited knowledge on the dentals schools except for what i saw during my interviews and some of the research I did on line when I was applying. What I really need is for a current student to give me some advice. I guess what I'm asking for is some straight shooting on what I should be watching out for (costs, # of patients issues, reputation, administration cooridination, etc). Any horror stories out there for any of these schools??? Any fantastic stories out there that say, you really need to be at X because of Y?


Any input would be appreciated.

Pitt is a great school. Currently though they are thinking of taking away our three weeks to study for Boards Part I in the summer. Depending on how you prefer to study and how much time you need, You might want to check with schools to see how much time you receive off to study for boards. In my opinion that would be a very important aspect in choosing a school.

2nd year students at Case currently have 4 wks off to study for their board (from Dec2-Jan1).

They're trying to take away our 3 weeks to study for boards?? When did this happen? What are they going to be putting in that place? Grrrr....😡

To follow up on my previous response...administration has yet again changed their mind. They say now that we will get "some" time off to study for the boards. How much that "some" time is not yet known to us. I am not sure how it is going to affect the first years. They just brought this up on us recently and our class is trying to fight for the time that was in place for us. Also they are apparently making the 3rd years take a Kaplan course for boards part II which is 750$ which comes out of their loan allowance for cost of living and it was not alloted for in the budget. Pretty crappy. You should talk to your class president about this to find out how this is going to affect you guys.
