how many people used cashier's checks to pay for their supplemental fee and for what school(s)?

I've never used a cashier's check but if the schools are okay with it, it shouldn;t be a problem. Call up and ask!

I used cashier check to pay for USC supplemental and only because they wouldn't accept personal checks.

thanks. for reason im debating between personal checks and a cashier's checks. you have to pay for money orders and after a convo with my dad, i'm kind of hesitant to send a personal check. i dont know why i am fretting over this.

note: any school would be stupid if they DIDN'T accept cashier's checks.

Send them a wad of dirty money.

what's wrong with using a personal check?

To many pre-pharms who don't know how to balance a checkbook. Seriously you wouldn't believe the number of return checks a school can get (or a business in my experience) by people who have absolutely no idea they were overdrawn. Cashier's check, like money orders, are as good as cash so the school doesn't have to worry about bounced checks.

For the OP I also sent my USC supp app fee as a cashier's check. Fortunately WaMu stopped charging for issuing bank-drawn checks.

Yes...Wamu is great, I opened an account with them just for the free official check thing.

i think a pet peeve of mine is people who HOLD my checks. there is nothing more annoying than checking your statement and people still have not cashed your check after a while.

Example = LECOM-Erie held my check for over three months before finally cashing it. I had a "WTF" look on my face when I saw that my checking account was lower than expected.

I wish more schools would join the 21st century and set up online credit/debit card payment options. Checks are sooooooooo 20th century and nobody trusts them anymore.

USC lost my cashier's check but I was able to find my receipt so I got the money back. Beware of USC! I later sent them a personal check and they cashed it so it's not really a big deal to send a personal check I think.
