Less than 3 weeks to go. How's everyone feeling?
Exact same thing over here 😂 AI is keeping me sane for nowAnyone else feeling burnt out. My new favorite hobby is to try to make 10 different AI predict my epc score
Same! Esp last block for me it was too many WTFs…How’d it go everyone? I literally have no idea how I did. There were questions I knew right away and others where I was like “WTF is this!?”
Is it the same exam for everyone or different forms? Now for the hardest part… the waiting game…
I honestly have no idea if all blocks/questions are the same or if they are randomized. Is it the same exam for everyone or different forms?
Where do I find registration status?Mine now says "Exam Administered." That was a humbling exam. Now we wait.
There is no exam under my exams 😭I just logged into NBME and clicked on my exam in the dashboard.
Maybe u also forgot to sign up using the link they send in the beginning to link ur exam to your account? Dw cuz i did too. Just contact support and they will fix it. Told me it can take up to 10 daysThere is no exam under my exams 😭
I liked Bootcamp for learning content and UWORLD for practice questions. For those that used Bootcamp and UWORLD…. Any preference? Which was best for this?
This is too real i cant 😭😂I’m literally gaslighting myself into thinking my educated guesses were right because that was insane. I felt like I knew exactly what was going on in every scenario but then they asked the most insane thing
last year my scores were posted on the myNBME portal Friday at 1:08pm with an email notification. good luck guys! Will scores be on the myNBME portal or AAOMS btw?
The old score refers to the original 2-digit score that was used when they first implemented the CBSE after dental boards went pass/fail. They used to provide a conversion chart from the old 2-digit score to the 3-digit score when it switched to the same scoring used for Medical boards. Then they changed the scoring again, once step 1 of medical boards went pass/fail, to EPC.What is EPC vs "old score"?
I don't think there is a set time we can necessarily expect the scores to arrive. However, SpadeElevator reported receiving their results last year at 1:08 pm (no time zone was specified). What time tomorrow do results come out?
I don't have anything eitherAnyone who still can’t see the exam in their portal??
EPC is usually within a point of RAW score and what is currently used. old score is the curved score (usually roughly between 3-7 points higher) and depends on the conversion tableWhat is EPC vs "old score"?
I believe “old score” refers to the raw score and EPC stands for “equated percent correct” - basically your curved score based on how everyone else did.
No. Diminishing returns. That score will get you interviews.I got 75-80 EPC. I know I could do better but is it worth putting myself through hell for another 6 months? I don't know.
That is the million dollar question isn’t itMy friend isn't too savvy when it comes to knowing what score is what so I am asking on their behalf. They got a 63 (59-67). Does this mean that it's a pass for Step-1 purposes, they seems to think so? Also if they want to do 6 year programs and they have a 4.0 GPA (rank 1) is this good enough or do they 100% have to retake?
63 EPC is the equivalent of a passing score for Step 1, although it is considered a low pass based off the NBME and medical school standards. If your intentions are to do a 6 year program, I would retake any CBSE that isnt over a 70 EPC while you are in dental school to maximize your chances of interviewing/matching. The average CBSE I saw at my program this past year for interviews was around 75 EPC just for reference. My friend isn't too savvy when it comes to knowing what score is what so I am asking on their behalf. It is still possible to match with a score below a 70 EPC for both and 4 & 6 year programs, so many more things go into an application, and it truly is looked at holistically. Having a competitive CBSE score will always land you more interviews.
