CBSE score needed for 4 year OMFS programs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm applying this cycle with an NBME of 61. I don't have class rank (which sucks because I'm easily top 10% but we have no version of honors etc at our school/they aren't reported on our transcripts) / no research but pretty great EC's (in a couple of fellowships). I'm planning on applying to all the 4 year programs just hoping to match. Do I have a shot on getting in somewhere?

61 gives you a shot but you should try to get a higher score.

At what score would you not recommend taking the test again?

For example, say I score a 72 the first time, and I have the chance to take it again before applying - should I? On the one hand there's the chance for improving the score, on the other hand it requires keeping all the material fresh in your head and having it weigh on your mind for 6 more months. At some point I'd imagine a score becomes "good enough" to where it doesn't merit 6 more months of study. Wondering where you think that range exists.

I'd appreciate hearing your opinions.
