just curious if the computer-based test takers get a paper version of the test as well so that they can write on it? or is everything on the computer and you only have scratch paper? i personally would like to have a paper version of the questions cuz sometimes you need to write on those diagrams..especially for the science sections. thanks!

First of i never took MCAT, all this info below is what i have learned from SDN.
up till this Agust MCAT the CBT had a computer version of the paper stuff. But starting Jan 2007 there will be a decrese in amount of questions so the CBT will be much shorter then th epaper based test(and the Agust CBT test as a matter of fact). Everything is on the computer as far as i am concerned, and you can get unlimited amount of scratch paper. You can also use some features avalable on the computer like the highliting etc. You type your essay and it is like word processing (you can copy , paste etc.) with exception of not being able to run the spell check.
Hope this helps 🙂

No, just scratch paper.

i usually go through paper pretty quickly- so wondering if they give you a certain limited amount, or may one take a 'pack' from them?

At my test site, the proctors had already left about 2 scratch paper 'booklets' on the table when I came in. Each booklets had 4 pages each. Everytime someone went on breaks, the proctors immediately swooped in to remove the used scratch papers and place the new ones on the person's table. So you'd always get fresh new ones for every section, including VR and Writing.

If you need extra paper, you could wave (the proctors sat in another room, separated by a glass window) and they'll come to give you more. I found I only used up about one booklet in each section except VR.
