I transfered from my CC with a 3.23 GPA (lots of B's and C's and a few A's), had retaken a few classes that I had gotten D's in (no F's), and received a C in my first chemistry course. Though at my UC I have a 3.8 and never gotten below a B grade.

My questions are:
1) How will med schools perceive my poor CC transcript? Will they differentiate between UC and CC transcripts, or look at them both as a full resume?
2) Do I still have a chance of getting into med school?
1) All grades earned at all schools attended will be calculated together by the application service to create a composite GPA. Some med schools will reformulate this basic data to give less weight to freshman year grades. Some give more weight to most recent coursework. A few even throw out your worst semester. I'd consider it highly important that you have great grades from now on, demonstrating consistent excellence, since you have no way of knowing which schools are which.

2) There are other ways to redeem a poor academic record, namely postbac programs and Special Masters Programs (See Postbac Forum for info). Of course, these take more time and money. A very-high MCAT score has rescued some with low numbers. And you should also consider applying to DO med schools, where only the most recent grade counts if you retake (for the same credits or greater). Your AACOMAS GPA is probably much higher right now.

You might figure out your overall GPAs to see where you stand.
