So I've taken a couple classes at CC: Calculus, Lit, History, english, and statistics because they wouldn't of fit into my schedule at my university and i wanted to get them out of the way during the summer.

So question is that my GPA is a 4.1 at the CC i took the courses at, but my university GPA is 3.4 bringing my total to right around a 3.55ish depending on the final grades this semester (didn't do so hot), will medical schools look down upon this since its affecting my overall GPA (the CC courses) and think of it as a bad way to "boost" your GPA?

...what?

I don't think they'll "look down" on you. But they won't value the A grades in those courses like they would value them if they were taken at your school.

On the upshot, during screens they might not bother to look and see where the total calculated GPA comes from, so if there is a 3.5 cutoff, you'll probably get by it even if your normal university gpa wouldn't get you there.

Good luck

They may look into which courses came from what schools (since some med schools don't allow prereqs from CCs), but even if they do, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just come back from this winter break and nail the highest GPA possible is coming semester.

Also....4.1? I don't think they will count an A+ like that.

My CC was harder than my university so I'm getting stellar grades at my current institution at the moment. I think it's weird that CC's are known as having "easier courses" than universities.
