I can't decide between attending CCOM and Touro-Nevada
Pros CCOM:
-Better clinical sites, rotation, and research opportunities
-Nice campus
Cons CCOM:
-12K more expensive in tuition every year
-Higher cost of living in Downers Grove
-Away from family and ultimately where I want to end up (Southern California)
Pros TUNCOM:
-New dean and new curriculum seems to really be paying off in increasing board scores
-Much closer to home
Cons TUNCOM:
-Not super researched based
-The campus is essentially a super nice warehouse with no windows anywhere
I guess my ultimate question is whether the higher tuition and debt at CCOM would help me become a better doctor and obtain a residency somewhere in California? I haven't decided what I want to do yet but am open to anything and interested in EM, IM, and Anesthesiology. Would attending TUNCOM over CCOM better my chances of coming back to California or should I attend CCOM and try to schedule some away rotations during my 3rd and 4th year in order to better my shot at Cali residencies? Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you!
