Hey all I'll be taking the DAT on April 3rd. I had a subscription to Chad that ended not too long ago. I watched all videos and took meticulous notes, which I review daily before working on practice problems. If in my position would you renew your subscription to all videos for one month just to be able to re-watch them again as review? Or would you save money and watch Khan?

I think this depends heavily on how strongly you feel about the chemistries.

I went to a school where I had a rather haphazard and slipshod general chemistry professor (who altogether skipped certain sections like titrations) and a reduced organic chemistry course that, while covering most of the broad, overarching concepts, skipped about half of the important reactions for the DAT. Hence, so far I've relied very heavily on Chad and he's been little short of amazing! I didn't even appreciate him that much until I began taking practice tests (thinking he had skimmed too lightly over many of the topics); it turns out Chad covers material in the perfect amount of depth! I, being weak in these areas, would renew. Support Chad!!

If you took great notes and use his review sheets then you probably don't need to watch the videos again, but I would highly recommend subscribing to his quizzes because they are very similar to what you will encounter on the DAT.

Oh yeah and the quizzes are great too! Countless people have recommended running through the quizzes a day or two before your exam, as light review!

First I took great notes and then recopied those into two composition notebooks: one for chem and one for orgo. It turned out to be about 75 pages for chem and 90 for orgo complete with just about everything he drew on his dry erase board. I then scanned those into a pdf file and read through about a section of each a day while at work. I took gen chem in 2005-2006 and orgo was in 2007. I slacked off in orgo so I really didn't learn it back then, but Chad has been absolutely amazing and I'm scoring between 19-22 on bootcamp and qvault for both sections. Hmmmmmm.

I'd say if you feel like you understand everything that you took notes on, no need to resubscribe to the videos. The quizzes might be worth resubscribing to though. I think the most effective way of preparing for standardized tests is practicing actual problems - definitely worth spending money on. I resubscribed to the quizzes just to review/refresh a couple weeks before my exam, and found it extremely helpful. Very purposeful questions that make you think through concepts that show up on the actual test, and gives you active practice. Another good source of chem practice is Bootcamp.

Personally, I would resubscribe. Watching the notes one last time on 1.5x speed and doing all the quizzes over again certainly helped me. If you had 2 weeks left, I'd say no... but a month is enough time that it makes it worth it.

Thanks for all your replies. I decided to re-subscribe and have been going back through following along with my notes at 1.5x speed. Heck it's only another $25 so why not?
