Hi everyone. So in Chad's video, he states that covalent networks and ionic bonds are strong (so high m.p), but molecular bonds are weak (low m.p, water 0 degrees celsius is considered high). But isn't molecular bonding a type of covalent bonding? Would covalent bonds be counted as strong or weak, since there are 2 types of it (covalent network + molecular compounds)?

Covalent bonds are among the strongest bonds as are network bonds. These are INTRAMOLECULAR attractions. In molecular solids we have INTERMOLECULAR attractions which are far weaker. This is reflected in physical properties, such as boiling and melting points.

Hope this helps.
