Chance of acceptance from being waitlisted

I just wanted to know...what are the chances of gaining an acceptance when you have been placed on waitlist for a dental school? 😕

You might want to specify which school(s) you are waitlisted at. Each school is different. Last year Case over accepted and no one got off the waitlist. I know NYU took a bunch of kids off the waitlist last year. Depends on the school.

Sone schools said they'd tell you what number you are on the list. So if you've been waitlisted, call them to find out how many people are before you.

i too was waitlisted last year at Case and OSU.

I was near the top of Case's list and got optimistic that people would decline invitation but i hear the school over-seated and now they are delaying admission this year because of it.

I gave up on OSU because they filed me as out-of state even though ive lived in ohio for 20 years and interviewing in Feb/March my grades weren't good enough, esp. as out-of-stater

as a second year applicant, any messages from schools with "wait", "hold" or "under-review" in the letter is practically a dagger through my heart

Sorry I can't help you with UCONN, I don't know about that school. Your best bet is to ask them directly what their waitlist situation is.

I too was in the "top third" of Cases waitlist last year and got optimistic...only to find out they had way over accepted. Oh well such is life. I hope you had better luck this year with schools!

I called Nova on Monday to find out, but they don't rank their list. They said they won't even get to the waitlist until April. Really disheartening to hear that.

yea i wouldnt call schools right now to ask where i stand on the wailist...may be in late april or so.
