Chances for Canada and America

First year GPA 1.93. Second Year First Sem GPA projected to be around 2.00. I have yet to write my MCAT. I have lots of executive positions in clubs, volunteer hours at various locations in the community and other distinctions. I know these ECs are useless with such a dismal GPA. I got off track and lost sight of my med school dream. I know if I apply myself for my remaining 2.5 years of undergrad I can pull off 3.7+ each term. I want to be as realistic as possible. If I can get my stuff together, show an upward trend in GPA and do decent on my MCAT do I still have a shot? Or would it be better for me to do a second degree or enter a grad program before applying to med?

Graduate grades, however strong will not offset a weak undergrad performance. You need to dramatically reverse your grade trend to keep your chances alive.
