My friend took off over 2 years after graduating. He has a 3.6 overall GPA and science GPA. Will take the dat next month and will only apply to UT Houston. Does he hold a chance? He's been a dental assistant for 2 years
Does it make a difference that he's been out of school for 2 years? If from TX apply to all the schools in-state. He'll get in.
Has he been shadowing and/or volunteering?Does it make a difference that he's been out of school for 2 years?
Yes he hasHas he been shadowing and/or volunteering?
Yeah tell him/her to apply to all 3 Texas schools. It costs the same either way. 3.6 is competitive aim for a 20+ DAT and they have a good shot from a stats perspective. My friend took off over 2 years after graduating. How come no one is calling foul on "my friend". I thought that was standard internet etiquette.
I agree. "My friend" wouldn't have a 3.8 with a 24AA.They only do it when stats are subpar.lol
I don't think it matters how long he's been out of school. Yeah, some schools may claim that his/her prereq expired but s/he can prove them wrong by doing well on DAT. Plus, your friend's been working in the dental field for the duration. I think s/he's got a good chance unless s/he gets low DAT.he has been out 3 years to be exact.
Maybe he wanted to experience the dental field while making a bit of money and strengthen his EC (work experience and shadowing and stuff)?Four years of college and the best he could do is get a job that can be done by high school dropouts.
