I just received my e-mail from Dr. Haight informing me that I'd been placed on the high waitlist. I understand that my chances of getting in are obviously better than the ones placed on medium/low waitlists, but I'm not exactly sure how many people they usually have on their high waitlist, for all I know it could be a 100 people. I just want to get some idea what my chances are of actually getting in for this August. Maybe people who were there last year and had been taken out can let me know or just anybody who has some input would be great because it's just very hard to be in a limbo. Thanks.

I definitely feel your pain. I think the most stressfull experience of my entire life was waiting to find out whether or not I got accepted into the program, and if I was going to recieve my scholarship.
Stop worrying, and enjoy life a little. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't you can still stake high claim to an early acceptance for the following year. I wish you good luck!

Do you know if they're still doing the Early Accept program?
I know I was High waitlisted last year and then didn't get into early accept, either. I think someone on the medium waitlist did get in, though.

My problem was that I didn't send a whole lot of follow up stuff. New LORs, transcripts, letter of intent. I recommend doing that if you really want to go there. I interviewed in the second to last group..I think that may have counted against me. Anyways, I'm in this year as a reapplicant. Chin up!
Good Luck!

Yeah, they still have the Early Accept program, but I thought that people who are on the high waitlist have priority over those that are on the medium/low waitlists, but I guess I was wrong. Perhaps it boils down to how much interest you show to the school. By the way, thanks for the suggestions guys =).

In the mean time, what are you doing? Are you finishing up your degree?
Have you looked into scholarship programs, grants, awards, and financial aid options? Definitely travel and experience new places before you matriculate.

Yeah, I just finished my second degree last semester and thinking of doing some more clinical volunteer for the summer. In terms of travelling, just got back from a vacation, and it was great. Now I"m just really looking forward to starting med school =).

I was placed on the high waitlist. I was told a had a good chance of getting in. Then at the last minute I was rejected. So I reapplied and got in. I wish I would have sent in more supplemental stuff and started my AACOMAS for re-application sooner. But it all works out.
