Major: Kinesiology and Exercise Science
Overall GPA: 3.1
Pre-Req GPA: 3.23-3.6 (depending on school)
GRE: none

Extra-Curric: Kinesiology Student Organization secretary, intramurals, rock climbing

Volunteer/Experience: 150 hours SNF, 2700+ hours as rehab tech working in outpatient and inpatient (neonatal to geriatric population), 1 year behavioral therapist working in home with children with cerebral palsy, autism, and conduct disorder, 15 hours rehab activities asisstant volunteer (acute inpatient), special olympics volunteer

Applying: MCPHS (pre-req. 3.6), Midwestern University - Downer's Grove (pre-req. 3.47), Springfield College (pre-req. 3.45), Bay Path University (pre req. 3.34), Husson University (pre req. 3.57), Stony Brook University (pre req. 3.23), and New York University (pre req. 3.44)

How are my chances looking? I'm really hoping for MCPHS so that I can commute, but will obviously go anywhere I can get in. One of my recommenders graduated from the OT program at Husson and I have a connection to the fieldwork coordinator since she used to work in the department where I currently work.

My GPA should go up a little after this semester since I'm retaking psych and abnormal psych (both I got a C+ in) and taking Child Psychology and hoping to get A's in all of them - so far so good in the classes.

If there are any ways I can go an extra step to show initiatve, please let me know.

I submitted my applications on 9/15/2016, except for Husson (doesn't open until October) and NYU.

Really hoping to get in the first time around!

I got rejected to Springfield College with a 3.7/8 pre req GPA last year and around a 3.5. Not sure if it was due to fit or what. Maybe consider AIC instead of Springfield? I also applied fairly late. I don't think they do rolling, but They might be less likely to accept people. My friend had a 3.2 when she applied to Bay Path 2 years ago, so that might be a good fit.

Really, the process is a bit random, so it's great that you're applying to a variety!

Edit: I didn't noticed you had already applied, I just reread it. Maybe try to communicate with the colleges that don't do interviews? I didn't try, but it might have made a difference.
