So I'm going to try to make this as short as possible and any and all help is much appreciated! I graduated top 10% in high school in 2012 and got a straight ticket to a 4yr university. I went to college 8 hours away from home and did very horrible academically due to immaturity and personal issues, and flunked out after my first year in 2013. I went to 2 different community colleges 2013-2015, then finally to a different 4yr university. After changing my major twice, and taking OChemI four times I will be graduating this fall in 2018 with a degree in Microbiology and Immunology. My GPA is 2.8-3.1 range depending on how my last 2 classes go and this is due to my failing grades that I had to attempt to come back from in my first year of college. I have 100+ hours of volunteering. I haven't taken the MCAT as I feel I am not entirely prepared and it may be my only chance at redemption to be considered into any DO school way down into the future. I will still do some volunteering and shadowing as well as working after graduation. I have considered a 1yr post-bacc program, but I do not even know if I can get accepted into one due to my GPA to be honest. Help and advice is appreciated as I am unsure of what I can do given the circumstances. Thanks everyone.

This will get moved to premed, but people can get in with an high gpa from their post bacc program even with prior 3.0ish GPA as long as they have a strong MCAT. I can't speak how hard it is to get into a post bacc, but you are who they are basically designed for. So yes its possible to get in med school, and yes its difficultly has been made harder by your past. Decide what you want, then pursue it.

Thank you for your help and advice! That makes me feel much more hopeful and less anxious. Also I apologize as I am new to the site; sorry about that.

FYI, the last time that top 10% in high school mattered was once you were accepted to undergrad.
I only provided that information for some background, but yes I do know it plays no role other than undergrad acceptance. Thanks though!
