Hi,

I've just received my grades for this semester and they are not stellar. I am a freshman so far, and i know how important having a good GPA is. I know i could do better, and i want to get into med school. so far my gpa is 2.66. how will this affect me?

The mean GPA for acceptees to US allopathic (MD) schools is 3.65. The good news is that you only have one bad semester to redeem. Get straight As next semester and prove those poor grades aren't the real you, and your GPA will go up to 3.33. After another full year of the same, you'll be up to 3.6+. Your own willingness to succeed is all you need to be successful. But don't mess up again.
