Anybody ever move/change their address mid-cycle?
In addition to contacting AAMCAS, do you really have to contact (Call/E-mail?) ALL 20+ schools you applied to, in case they already looked at your old address and won't return to AAMCAS to see your updated address til whenever?

I know everything's electronic nowadays but with all the app's coming in, I don't know if schools will look at your updates.

Thanks!

Just change it in your AMCAS app and resubmit it. That's the only thing, 'cause the med schools are going to rely on your AMCAS app info. For some very few schools like UCSF, they ask that you call them and update them with that info, but there's only a few of them that do that. You only need to change the info you need to change. I did it a bunch of times last year and it worked out fine.

Cool, thanks! I'll definitely get in touch with the UC's since I'm trying to stay in state.
I was worried that schools only look at it once during primaries, but might not update any downloaded info from your app, if they do indeed download your info for their records.

QUESTION: Is it possible to add a new school and upcoming classes to an already submitted AMCAS??

I haven't changed my address, but I've read many posts by people who have. It's definitely true that you have to change your info on AMCAS and resubmit (don't worry--you don't have to get verified again), but it would be wise to notify your schools directly also. Unless you do that, they won't know that they should download the new version of your AMCAS with the address change.

It's like changing your address: just add the schools to your AMCAS and resubmit. It's very quick: takes effect the next business day. I added 12 schools to my app in mid-October, and had no problems whatsoever.

As for upcoming classes, I'm not sure. I think you're supposed to put classes in progress on your app from the beginning, but mark them as "In Progress." When you get the grades, though, I think you have to notify your schools directly via letter or email. Some might also want official transcripts.

I don't think it's even possible to update AMCAS for such grades. Once you've been verified, you have a certain amount of time (10 days, maybe?) to question the way they've recorded and classified your grades, but after that I don't think it can be changed. The only parts of your app that you can change or update are your contact info and your list of schools.
