Some of my Current/Future coursework that was listed on AMCAS has changed. Is this something I should update med schools about now? I listed a summer course that I wanted to take, but didn't end up having the time or $ for it. Also changed some of my fall coursework. Unsure if this warrants an update.

I don't think it should be a big deal. Future plans are subject to change, which is why people on these forums seem to say that schools don't put too much stock into "future activities/classes."

Of course, I could be wrong, so I'll defer it to an adcom. I too have had some classes change since submitting my AMCAS (not pre-reqs, just some interesting humanities courses).

thanks for your input. I was also under the impression that adcoms don't put too much stock into the current/future courses because they are not binding, but still wasn't sure if I needed to send an official update regarding this. I did intend to take them when I listed them on AMCAS, but life happened and my plans changed. Mine are science courses, but not pre-reqs

Forgot to mention - I'm specifically wondering if this is something I should update schools about after I get an II, after I get accepted or waitlisted, or don't even bother updating about it at all?

This is a question I have as well after having an interview. I am curious to see what others say

If one of the classes was a prerequisite for a given school, mentioning your plan for an alternative timeframe can be included in update letter, where and when allowed. Otherwise, it need not be specifically addressed. They know that you know it must be completed, with a grade on a transcript before you can matriculate at their school.

Thanks for the info!

In my case the classes in question are not pre-reqs at any of the schools where I have interviews. My pre-reqs have already been completed
