Ok, if anyone has paid attention to my rants in the lounge, you will know that my postman sucks and keeps losing my mail. So, after 12 months of mail disappearing or not showing up for 2 weeks, I decided to get a PO box (the straw that broke the camels back is the fact that my state school secondary was sent on the 14'th yet it still hasnt arrived 😡 ). But now, I'm not sure what the best way to change my contact information with the schools will be. I have already sent in many secondaries with the old address. Should I call each school individually and ask them to change my information?

Some schools request that you make any changes to your contact info on the AMCAS application. I would do that, and call each school just to make sure.

Thanks, I just wonder if it will matter now that everything has been transmitted to the schools.

I move on Aug 15th, so I am in the same boat Cerb. I am sending out a mass email to every admissions office, changing it on amcas, and changing it on the various app webpages that will let you. Like creighton has a form to fill out online. I would also forward your mail tot he PO...with all of those things, you shouldn't miss much 👍

By the way, that sucks about your postman. You should write a strongly worded letter or at least sick your dog on him.

I'm moving on September 2nd, so if you find out the answer, let me know too.

I actually filed a formal complaint with the state postmaster. So now i'm also afraid that he will start burning any mail of mine he comes across :scared: :scared:

WHAT IF...
They never actually mailed it, and you are getting an innocent man in trouble?

This has been going on for 12 months....

Might as well contact the schools; you can ask for them to resend the secondaries to the new address at the same time, killing two birds with one stone. Do it sooner rather than later (i.e., no putzing around) because you've already lost some time. (But be sure that they actually sent you secondaries first. That would be a pretty big faux pas.)

cerbernator buddy, maybe its just me, but if I were you I would write a letter to each school stating the address change...and i would also try to change it with amcas...i wish you the best of luck my friend...

It would also be a good idea to have all your mail forwarded to your P.O. box. That way, it will never get into the hands of your postal delivery person. Good luck, I know how very frustrating it is to have important mail lost/delayed.

Thanks for the tips, I went ahead and emailed the schools asking them to refer future correspondence to my new address and I changed it on AMCAS.

I got this response from one school:

"Thank you for this change. AMCAS will update our files with this
change. The link to our secondary application will made via email, so
if your email address has not changed, you will receive that as soon as
you are in our system."
