Since May 15th is the last day for those with multiple acceptance, they might be waiting for them to make their final decisions before they respond to us.
 
I think, according to AMCAS, the guidelines suggest that schools notify all applicants by two weeks prior to May 15th, so that you have time to think about your decision. After all this time, it seems only fair. Not that the admissions process is "fair", but oh well. So, hopefully, all will hear within the next two weeks.

Obviously, this process just stinks for everyone all around. I mean we get stuck making a decision REALLY late in the game. Drew gets stuck in the position, at least some of the time, getting rejections from great students b/c they already committed to another school and don't want to mentally and physically make the switch.

I have waiting since Feb interview as well. I wish they would just get the decision over with.

By the way, thanks to all you who post so often 🙂 --- like Flop, MDhopeful, onthesilliness, etc. I read this message board and then I don't get the urge to call Drew anymore! I know all the info from all of you. LOL! :laugh:

We don't receive a packet via snail mail if that is what you mean... you should receive a confirmation of your date and where to meet via email... you should receive that a week before your interview... good luck!
 
i think it was ohthesilliness that received a call from admissions... well i did too! it was weird... i was sooo elated but............... it wasn't an acceptance call 🙁 it was just to answer my question about my AMCAS... all the excitement dissappeared.... sigh....
 
My concern at this point is that even if ARE fortunate enough to get an acceptance - by the time our financial aid info is ready, it will be beyond the May 15th date, and we won't really be able to make informed decisions about where to go. Frustrated.

If they want to be a rolling admissions school, then they shouldn't be waiting until all the interviews are completed. If they want to be a non-rolling admissions school, then they should advertise themselves as such. OK... I am just cranky lol. I think a nice frappacino will cheer me up. :laugh:
 
I understand flop... sigh... i already put down money for an osteopathic school (it was a BIG deposit) because I still don't know where I stand with allopathic schools! 🙁

But hey we got to keep our hopes high... lets drink to the fraps 👍

Don't give up hope!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you girls/guys. I read this thread every day and wish I had a crystal ball to let you know where you stand. I am an alternate, so I can kinda relate. Good luck to everyone! :luck:
 
thanks for posting the phone number...i finally got through after getting vmail for 3 days...well, i have no new info for you guys...i was told just the same...they'll be interviewing until wednesday next week...and then they'll make decisions after that...dont know how long they'll notify us...

i know i posted this before, but i know a girl in my lab who was waitlisted for drew two years ago...she was on the waitlist until August then she finally got rejected...so this really blows...yeah, i made a huge deposit for another school too...that really sucks coz i can use the money for something else! id like to hang on to hope with this school...i wouldnt want to go anywhere else...but the wait....it's killing me!

OK.. based on the original schedule - this was my week to call - so I did.

I was told that there are 7 more people to interview next week, then they will rank all of us still waiting to hear. I unfortunately did not get a timeline, but was told that I should e-mail any update info instead of mailing it because time was running out.

Sounds like we are getting close to the light at the end of the tunnel - lets hope it isn't a train.
 
Hmm... I just noticed that "recruitment day" is on May 6th. You would think that they would have all the acceptances out by this date so that the people accepted could attend this date. Hmm we must be getting close. Cross your fingers everybody!

I'm going crazy with the wait. I really want to attend Drew. I already have an apartment lined up right next to UCLA =). Is the recruitmant date set in stone? Those who are already accepted, has Drew confirmed this date?

No no.. not confidence that I will get in. More like.. I would be taking over my sister's apartment if I get in. She's at UCLA as an undergrad right now. Everything else seems to be falling into place... now if only Drew would accept me... it would be perfect.

Lucky you! If I get in, I have NO CLUE where I would even want to live. I hear that Santa Monica area is nice, and convenient... but I don't know anything about the LA area.
 
I was told that last year a student got in the day before class was about to begin. We might not even hear anything in May. I just found some one that interviewed early Jan and still hasn't heard anything (almost 4 months). Each time he calls they tell him his filed has been reviewed but a decision hasn't yet been made. Do you guys know whether or not they have reviewed your files and just waiting to make a decsion?

Hi, I've been lurking all this time b/c I interviewed at Drew last year and didn't really think anything would happen with my application this year. Well, now I'm one of those seven people interviewing there next week. (Yikes! I just got back from Pitt's 2nd look and thought my mind was made up.)

I share an office with Flopotomist and know how excruciating this process has been w/ Drew. It's totally insane that they're still interviewing! I just wanted to voice my solidarity before I go and make the mess even worse.

I'm looking for the appropriate emoticon ... 😕 ?

Please flame me if it will make it better!
 
Good luck PranaMD... and mimi i don't know if my file has been ranked... 3 weeks ago it wasn't reviewed yet soooooooooooooo probably now it has been reviewed.... maybe they re-rank over and over again until they give a decision to the the most qualified... yikes!

oh ya no flame war for you PranaMD :laugh: it's just excruciating to wait to know where you will be the next 4 years...

OMG!!! I KNEW IT!! Congratulations! I still love you if you get in and I don't. Good Luck! (Hmm... I hope they notice all the publications with both of our names on it and realize that we should BOTH be accepted!)

im on the waitlist since March! this process...i swear...it doesnt make sense...id like to say ive already given up...but then i keep checking this forum for any updates...am i torturing myself or what??? argh!

I propose that for those of us still waiting, we guess what date we will hear back - closest to the actual date without going over wins ..

I predict Friday. Anybody else?
 
They just did the last interviews last week. I was told that once they were done with all the interviews they would rank everyone and let them know. Friday seems too early.

mimi2006 i believe the last interviews are this wednesday... so i think we won't know until probably after the 15th of May... (yes I know I'm just being realistic lol) 😉

Just to update you guys/girls:
The second-look for Drew is on May 5th, NOT May6th (the 6th is for Geffen). I would think that they would want people to know if they are in or not before that date (next week)...so that they can attend and get their questions answered, etc. Good luck everyone!
 
It seems like they could do them concurrently so we could meet all of our classmates. I guess some might be considering both schools but probably not that many. Second Look is finally coming up soon!!! I cannot imagine that, given the small number of students at Drew, that they do not want to get as many of you there as possible. So, my guess is that acceptances will come the end of this week!!! :luck: 😉 :luck:

Prana was guessing the date that we would hear final results when she said May 10. Her interview is tomorrow, and the last interview date is Wednesday. I would certainly hope that we have results before second look. BTW, who found out about the second look date for Drew, and can you post a link to where you found the info?
 
Assuming that they've already ranked everyone else and that they only have the 7 left on Wednesday... I predict May 1st. Anyone want to call and ask about second look day and if they plan on letting us know before then?

There is no link. It was sent out via email. Again, I predict before this date...doesn't make sense to hold off acceptances especially if all interviews are done...

Make sure to show that you are a great fit for the school. Let them know your unique background, and what you have done (extracurriculars) and how they relate to your future career helping the underserved. Show interest in seeing Drew/MLK b/c that is where you will spend two years at. Relax! Good luck!

Thanks! I think it went well. They said they will be meeting tomorrow (Thursday) to make decisions. I don't know what that means for when we'll hear, but hopefully this will all be over soon.

oh ya for those people who were on the drew waitlist last year... how many do they put on the waitlist??? and how far those it move ???

Okay ... sorry FLOP so out of schedule but I called...

Norma told me that they sent our files to UCLA already and we will know by early next week... NOW I don't know if that is all acceptances/rejections/waitlists.............. BUT like pranaMD said the wait is finally coming to a close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOSH GUYS I'm getting giddy and excited... I can't wait to know... good or bad but rooting for all of us to get good news...it'll be nice to know everyone's faces at second look (OH PLEASE ALL OF US GET ACCEPTED!)
