Hi- I'm still here too- I don't post that much, but I do get excited everytime I see the thread moved up! I was going to call or email or something until I read your guys' posts! I think I would cry if I heard that kind of news over the phone🙁 but, I too will wait until I actually see the letter!

Whoever gets the letter first, share with the group so we know when to brace for impact at the mailbox.

the letter of rejection... i hope desiree was just doing procedure and we are accepted... i don't know i think post-interview rejections hurt more... its equivaalent to breaking up with a bf/gf

I am afraid to tell you guys that the last postings are correct. I spoke with Norma today and she confirmed that rejection letters are on their way. The class is full. She wanted to check on my name but i told her it was going to spoil my week if i knew i had a letter on the way.

edit: i just saw from your last post that you interviewed in feb... gosh your one of the orphaned feb group 🙁 i feel ya...

i thought you were in chicago lol... well i'm just right next door (go suns... no i like the clippers 👍 ) but honestly won't they give some of us waitlists, this me disregarding what desiree said... but next week... the dreaded letter... as of now i'm still not accepting the fact... i think their will be a miracle somewhere... thus i'm here lurking... until this thread closes forever...

I will be moving to Chicago in July (unless I get a miraculous acceptance from Drew). Hmm - SOMEBODY has to get waitlisted - or are there already too many people on the list, and the orphans were just too late?

I want to think that too. I am still holding out for a waitlist. Then I think, "Maybe I will get a call in June asking me to go to Drew." I am in big denial as well.

Flop - as for Chicago, I live there right now and am a native. I remember reading you are going to Loyola. That is a great med school. I love the facilities but the area is nothing like the one around UCLA. I unfortunately was rejected from there.

I spoke to norma today and she said that they are not sending out letters to all who haven't yet from them. she said that some students are still holding multiple acceptance and so they have to wait until they drop before they can send notices. There is no exact time when we would find out.

nope i have not gotten a letter... i spoke to norma last friday and she told me that my file is still being reviewed! ya... guys there is still hope... i've heard different stories in the last 3 months (from outright rejection last week to my file is still being reviewed by UCLA) so i'm guessing that there is still a possibility that we will hear next month... I don't know guys but I'm confused very odd... i've heard too many conflicting things from my calls with admissions that i don't know what to believe... so here i am patiently awaiting...

I talked to Norma 5 minutes ago and she told me that my status letter was sent out Friday and so I should receive it soon. Since they're sending out rejections at this point, I guess this is the end for me. Well I already began my new PS and sent transcript requests. Maybe a waitlist will come thru before I put down several hundred for my primary. I'm glad that the wait is finally coming to an end. I need to move on.

Well, I have started looking at apartments in Chicago - For the record, I would be perfectly happy to eat the money from breaking the new lease and moving to LA if I get off the waitlist (if I am even on a waitlist). Has ANYBODY received a letter yet?

just talked to norma... there are 6 of us who have their file in UCLA under review... (including me) yes there are rejections going out but there are 6 that they are holding on to... norma said to give them time to see if the people who have multiple acceptances need to tell them or else they are taken out of the class...

no, she is Drew's admissions person. I guess if there are 6 lucky waitlisters - I should hold off on signing a lease in Chicago a little bit longer just in case I get lucky. Has anybody from the February group seen a rejection yet?

no we go through a seperate admission process than that of ucla... our file is finalized by drew and then sent out to ucla for approval...

I am from the February group as well. I have not heard a thing. Last time I called was 2 weeks ago when Norma said my file was still under review.

Thanks for giving me hope that I am one of the people they are still considering. I sure hope I am! 😳

Hey guys- I just got home from work, so checked the mail pretty late, and in it was my rejection letter from Drew. Luckily I was kind of expecting it because of previous posts (thanks for the updates), as well as one pretty hostile interview, but I do love Drew, and really hope you guys hear better news! I am in Nor Cal, so if you are in CA and didn't get a letter yet, this may be a good sign for you! Good luck ....

I am going to wait a few more days. It sounds like rejection letters are starting to hit mail boxes, so I will wait to see if I get one of those first. I don't want to make poor Desiree or Norma give me bad news over the phone - I think it bums them out as much as it bums us out.

Holy crap I forgot to post the news on the DREW thread (my home for 3.5 months)... yes I did get accepted for the UCLA/UCR program tuesday... I'm waiting to hear back from DREW (which I still consider numero uno)... but alas... I don't know... With my talk with Norma last week she did say that 6 files where at Dr. Parker's office... and I noticed that my acceptance letter was from Dr. Parker SO in conclusion I think there is confusion between my files... but I hope I make the right choice if it comes to it... there are both positives for both programs BUT honestly I really like DREW's thesis option, mission, etc... But then again they are potentially the same but different locations.... 😱

well this is now TWO of the SDNers from this thread that will be at UCLA for the first two years (three if you count Elastase who chose to go elsewhere). Lets hope for a few more!

I have heard nothing as well. I interviewed on Feb.27 though. I interviewed with Dr. Sanchez. I called today to ask about my status but wasn't able to get ahold of anyone. Hopefully all this wait will pay off!

June 15 is the official date when schools can drop those having multiple acceptances. May be we might have to wait until then, who knows. Mimi please keep us posted after your call.
