Can we consolidate here and put which schools have already had status changes to check back December first? I know we can't really tell anything from it but I'm just curious and figured it'd be easier than looking all around the forums lol. 5 days and some hours guys!

It means under school decisions on the portal it now says check back dec 1 instead of application complete or whatever

I was wondering about the same thing and searched through many forums,
and basically the school has made a decision (either good or bad) on you if you get the status change to "check back.."

Some threads look like they made a conclusion that if you get that message from the school you interviewed,
it is "most likely" an acceptance because not many schools give out rejections right away to those they interview pre-Dec.
Also this thread below has some people "confirmed" that the theory will be likely right for some schools.

I was looking through UConn threads from previous years, and there was one poster who got the status change but waitlisted on Dec1/2/3.
And in the case of BU, people who got the status change were 99% accepted on the first day of Dec while people without the change
didn't hear from the school on that day.

Well, it's only speculation and who really knows the truth?
But it is pretty sure that the decision is made, by the school, on you, if you get the message.
We just don't know for sure if it is an acceptance yet.

As funny as people say this is, my AADSAS portal is set up the same why as what the OP claimed lol I think there might be an ounce of truth in it. But having "check back" on the bottom doesn't just mean acceptance....I think it could be either 3 options. It's just that a decision was made.

I received a rejection from UCSF about a month ago. That status says to check back on Dec. 1. Then I have 3 schools listed below that say invited for interview. Below that, NOVA's status says to check back on Dec. 1.

But if it changes on an even numbered day, you've been rejected 🙁

As far as I know, yea it is. And I'm not 100 percent sure on this part, but I remember hearing something like if the day is divisible by three, you've been waitlisted.
